Hello guys!
A while back, I posted a story showing off my IOS home screen and I got tons of reactions, quite the number of them asking how i achieved the design. So i decided to create this guide (both video and instructional) on how to achieve a beautiful and aesthetic home page design.
Before i begin, I should tell you that this process should take about an hour overall so well…that’s that. And also please make sure to tap on the pictures to see the FULL image.
Now down to business; The first step is to download widget-design app on the App store. Personally, I use Widgetsmith because it’s the easiest to use but there are also options like Widgeridoo, Color Widgets and Widgy which i hear are excellent also.

The second step is to download a ton of pictures whose color sequences match that of what color you’d like your homepage to look like.
Step 3: Next step is to open your Shortcuts app, which normally would look this, but mine looks like the image next to it.
Step 4: Click on the ‘+’ sign at the top right corner.
Step 5: Tap on the ‘Add Action’ bar.
Step 6: Click on the Search bar and search up Open App. Click on the bar that says ‘Open App’ only.
Step 7: It’ll open up a new shortcut, click on Choose and select any app you’d like to be on your homescreen. For my list of Apps, these are them.
Step 8: Once you’ve selected an app, it’ll return to the former interface, except instead of Choose, it would be the app you selected inserted on there. Next is to click on the three dots on the upper right quadrant of your screen, where another page would pop up that looks like the second picture below.
Step 9: First of all, type in the App’s name that you want to appear on your Home Screen. For example, I downloaded an Oxford dictionary from the App Store, but when it was time to put it on my Home Screen, I changed it to just DICTIONARY. Afterwards, Click on the ‘Add to Home Screen’ bar, where a page would appear like the first image below.
Step 10: Next step is to Click on the green icon next to the ‘New Shortcut’ bar and select the picture you’d like.
Next isn’t a step but more of a pop-up confirmation.
Go back to your home screen and VOILA!
From there on, it’s a reiterate-and-repeat process.
If you’re not so big on the instructional guide though, here is the video guide;
I hope you found this helpful. See you on my next post!
