Hi again!
Welcome to another blog post in the Editing Tips series. I will be giving you guys the scoop on How to add Presets to your Videos on your Phone.
If you’ve been consistent with my blog posts, you would know very well that I always have a fun time editing presets, presets which are available for free in THIS section of my blog. All you will need is a Lightroom app and a functioning Lightroom account.
Now let’s get down to business.
I know for sure I’m not the only one who plans a certain layout on Instagram only to have it ruined by my videos. We know Lightroom Mobile does not support videos or any mp4 files. Lightroom classic does, but that only takes away the ease of editing with your phone in the first place. Right below are tips and apps that have helped me so far in adding presets to my videos.
1. TON: Filters [FREE//PRO]
TON is a free filter editing app available on both iPhone and Android. It has the option of applying presets to both photos and videos. Exclusively for people with a keen editing taste, TON offers a wide range of free filters to be applied on your photos/videos. Although quite the number of those filters are reserved for the premium subscribers at the rate of $7.7/month, there is also the option of $20.10/year which would save you 78% of the monthly subscription cost.
What’s more is that you have the luxury of editing their already pre-made filters right there on the app. Whether or not you want decreased or increased saturation, exposure, contrast, clarity or vibrance. It’s all up to you and what you want.
2. EDITH [FREE//PAID]
EDITH is an amazing and very versatile editing app only available (unfortunately) to iPhone users. The app consists of hundreds of beautiful and uniquely selected presets that can be applied to both pictures and videos. Whilst the presets are ready available to be applied on photos, you will however need to subscribe for the pro version of the app to be able to access the presets which can be applied on videos. The presets which are available on the free version of this app although beautiful are quite limited.
The Pro version of this app goes for $31/year.
This app is one of the most versatile I’ve ever across, reason being other than offering presets for photos and videos, it has ready made photo templates that have effects and textures incorporated into them. All you have to do is add any picture from your gallery and it would be edited according to whatever template you select.
They also have a wide range of Fonts (both for the free and paid version) that can be used your Instagram stories and reels.
3. FILTEROOM [PAID ONLY]
FILTEROOM is an exclusive app that offers the most eye catching sets of presets you and I will every come across. And Yes! You can apply those presets on videos via the VN app. The creators of Filteroom had editors in mind when creating the Color LUTs on the app. These presets can be applied to both photos (via Lightroom) and videos (via VN).
The Filteroom app has three options of subscription;
- The yearly subscription which goes for $40/year which is roughly $3.5/month
- The monthly subscription which goes for $20/month
- The ‘Lifetime access’ subscription which goes $37.
In all this, I wouldn’t exactly call the Filteroom app a completely subscription based app as there are two preset packs on there that are free to use on pictures and videos. These are the WILD & FREE and PINK MOOD packs.
There are tutorial videos on how to use each of those packs on your Photos and Videos. And they are right there below.

Overall though, it is an excellent and highly recommended app on my end.
There you have it! My top favorite ways to add presets to videos.
