In this blog post, I come bearing gifts, not physical gift of course but mental gifts; Sunday Routines to Prepare you for the Best Week Possible.
As it stands, we have two ways to view the the seemingly controversial day that is Sunday; Either the dreadful last day of the weekend that takes with it all the joy of the two-day break OR the perfect rest and prep day that can launch you into the perfect week. I’ll be honest, I used to be one of those that thought Sunday was THE WORST but as I grew older, Sunday began to look like a gateway to prepare myself for the week and try to get rid of as much stress as possible.
Below are a few routines I swear by every Sunday and they absolutely make my life in Med School a whole lot easier.
1. Prioritize and write down a to-do list
You’d be surprised how much future plans evade your mind once you begin the new week and get indulged with work. Which is why it is paramount to pen down anticipated goals for the week. By doing so, you’ll be able to better plan each day and you won’t be surprised by any deadlines. Personally I use my notes app more often than I do paper. But you can use whichever you’re more comfortable with.
2. Shopping and Stocking
From groceries to utilities to even keeping up to date on bills, Sundays prove to be the perfect day to stack up on food, provisions and other necessities. There are hundreds of articles that claim that Wednesdays are the best days to shop. But according to Wise Bread and 80% of the population on Quora, Sunday Mornings, when everyone is deep under their blankets or at Church is the perfect time to stack. And because Stores are aware of the rush hour on Sunday afternoons, more goods tend to be on sale.
3. Meal Prep
To better utilize your time ahead of the weekdays, I advise that you whip up something rather simple, easy and tasty that will last 3-5 days. You’d be surprised how much time you avail of when you put your kitchen time in another aspect of your life.
Meal Prepping saves time, money and enables you eat healthy food of YOUR choice, not to mention the lack of stress associated with it.

4. Declutter your Surrounding/Do Laundry
What better way to start the week than on a clean slate, literally. Take some time out to clean and organize your clothes, home and everything that needs to get sorted out. That way, you get to plan your outfits ahead of time. Take it from a college student, there are only a few feelings worse than planning an outfit and then finding out it’s in the wash.

5. Budget Planning
An important step to take into the new week is to plan how to actually live in the new week. Financial Planning is such an underrated aspect of our lives. 6. Get enough Rest
Whether your way of relaxation is by sleeping, gaming, or just being zen for hours, Sundays are the perfect day for that to happen. You’ll resume the week feeling refreshed and ready to kick it.
7. Enjoy your time off.
It would be much of a break if you don’t actually enjoy being on a break. Take your time to relax and enjoy and cherish every moment of your time off.
