Whether or not you need to connect tools like CLOUDFLARE or EZOIC to your Bluehost site, you will need to know how to change Name servers on Bluehost in case of any reasons necessary. Sometimes, Name Servers need to be changed in order for your site to point to a particular server or tool asides the server on which your site is hosted (your web host).
WHAT ARE NAME SERVERS?
Name Servers are basically addresses that handle the location of the domain name of your website. It is more commonly used to refer to a hosting provider’s web server where it manages and maintains the domain names for their customers. Name servers make it easier for us to visit our favorite websites without having to memorize a string of numbers. These string of numbers are the IP addresses unique to every website.
Name servers make up the DNS (Domain Name System) of any website. DNS is often referred to as the Phonebook of the internet. DNS is composed of nameservers that connect IP addresses to domain names so we don’t have to.

WHY ARE NAMESERVERS IMPORTANT?
A name server is the location of your website.
Take Starbucks for example. Just like how Google Maps point to a particular location on the Map as the location of a Starbucks Franchise, Name Servers point to a particular IP address on the internet as the location of your website. Name servers ease up the process of people having to find your website on the internet.
And just the way those Starbucks workers should know the location of where they work, you should know the location of your website. Hence, you should know your name servers.
There are numerous reasons why you should want to know your name servers.
- If you bought a domain name from a different place from your web hosting platform, you’ll need to point your domain name servers to the web host.
- If you’ve changed web hosting companies and want to point your domain name to the new web hosting provider.
- If you want to set up CDN tools like CLOUDFLARE or Adsense Tools like Ezoic and you want your website to now point to them.
