For you to want to know how to add ads.txt file to root directory in bluehost account, it could mean many things, but the one I’m most sure of is that you want to verify your google Adsense account in order to start earning from your Bluehost website. And this is the perfect place for you to find out how to.
Authorized Digital Sellers or Ads.txt is an initiative that helps ensure that your digital ad inventory is only sold through sellers (such as AdSense in this case) who you’ve identified as authorized. Creating your own ads.txt file gives you more liberty over who is allowed to sell ads on your site and helps prevent counterfeit inventory from being presented to advertisers.
Google strongly recommends that every website owner looking to monetize his/her site use an ads.txt file. This is done to help identify counterfeit inventory and helps you receive more advertiser spend that might have otherwise gone toward that counterfeit inventory.
If you use ads.txt, you must include your publisher ID in your ads.txt file. If there’s an ads.txt file present on your site and your publisher ID is missing from it, Google will reject all ad requests from your site.
PLEASE NOTE:
It is important for you to know that your site doesn’t already have an uploaded ads.txt file in its directory. To confirm this, you would need to type into your browser – (yourdomainname.com/ads.txt). If a 404 error page comes up, then you’re good to go.
Next is to download the Ads.txt file from your Adsense account before proceeding with the next steps.
